Former Oklahoma State basketball player wrongly convicted, supporters say

A former Oklahoma State basketball player convicted of sexually assaulting two women at a party has reportedly attracted a good number of supporters who say prosecutors got the wrong man. And while at least one of the victims has expressed her anger about the building support, the judge in charge of the case is currently considering whether to grant the convicted man's motion for a new trial.

Dallas man connected to Sam Hurd pleads guilty to attempted cocaine purchase

Last Friday, a Dallas man believed to be a co-defendant of former Chicago Bears wide receiver Sam Hurd, pleaded guilty to attempting to purchase cocaine with Hurd's money in order to establish a drug-distribution network. In particular, the man pleaded guilty to one count of possession with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of cocaine.

DNA sample clears imprisoned Texas man

A Texas man convicted of raping a teenager in 1988 will be freed after a DNA test excluded him from the possibility of committing the crime. The freed man had filed for DNA testing with the help of the Innocence Project in 2007, but that test was inconclusive. The results from a different type of test conducted in 2010 eventually lead to the man's clearance and release from prison.

In a recent post, we noted that Dallas Cowboys' Dez Bryant was recently charged with misdemeanor domestic violence after he allegedly assaulted his mother. Bryant had allegedly gotten into an altercation with his brother-in-law before grabbing his mother by the shirt and hair, striking her in the arms and writs, hitting her in the face and pushing her in the chest.

McKinney man accused of using Craigslist to lure, rape women

Police officers in the northeast Texas town of McKinney are continuing to hear from possible rape victims of a man accused of using Craiglist as a lure. According to a number of alleged victims, the man lured unsuspecting women to an apartment by posting ads on Craigslist which offered free or reduced or reduced rent in return for keeping his apartment clean while he travelled for work.
