Freed Dallas convict attempted to gain exoneration up till death

A 62-year-old Dallas man who was freed early last year new DNA testing put his sexual assault conviction in doubt died earlier this month after a battle with heart and lung problems. Up till his death, the man had been attempting to have himself exonerated.

Former Mavericks star enters diversion program on fraud charges

Former Mavericks star Dirk Minniefield, now 51 years old, recently had a trial on fraud charges cancelled after prosecutors agreed to allow him to enter into a diversion program. Participation in the program will allow him to avoid conviction on charges stemming from an alleged $10 million mortgage scheme in Texas.

Youths at state juvenile centers may face shorter sentences, more violence

When a young person is charged with a criminal offense, parents and other family members are justifiably concerned about their future.
